Police register case
ITANAGAR, Jul 2: Naharlagun Police have registered a case of manhandling, attempted kidnapping and snatching money against Tadar Tabang and four others.
According to the FIR lodged with police, two women, namely Tami Yagam and Tami Yaro
were allegedly manhandled and beaten up by a group led by one Tadar Tabang while
attending a civil case of land dispute at ADM-
The group also snatched money and attempted to forcibly kidnap them, it said and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits under appropriate section of law.
The incident took place at Itanagar Capital Complex DC’s office building premises in front of the judicial branch just after they attended the case.
A case has been registered at Naharlagun PS (Case No 84/11) under section 341/325/354/384/511/34 IPC and investigation was on.

ITANAGAR, Jul 2: Anchal Chairperson, 12 Tali Anchal Samiti, Kurung Kumey district highlighting the grievances of public in a release said that there is no proper road connectivity, electricity, medical facility and schools in Tali area.
It appealed to the state government to look into the matter immediately and establish a circle officer office at Rongyang.

ITANAGAR, Jul 2: All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization (AAPYO) has vehemently condemned few persons with vested interest for their nefarious attempt to create division within Nyishi community.
While expressing its strong resentment over the activities of few individual in the name of All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA), AAPYO said that it would not recognize any ANYA group and its office bearers other than those who were duly elected by its members. AAPYO was referring to the constitution of a new ANYA body led by Achung Yumlam in presence of an existing elected body of the Association.

Reduce VAT on petroleum products: AAYA
ITANAGAR: All Arunachal Youth Association (AAYA) appealed to the State Government to reduce the value added tax (VAT) on Diesel, Kerosene and LPG to give relief to the consumers.
It said that steep increase in price of petroleum products, especial diesel, has pushed up the price of all essential items thus making poor people’s life miserable.
It alleged that cooking gas is being sold at Rs.500 per cylinder by black marketeer in Itanagar whereas the actual price is Rs 418.
It appealed to the Chief Minister to provide subsidy on petroleum products for the poor and BPL families.
Marde calls for peace and harmony

Aalo bandh pass off peacefully
RMSA denies allegation
ITANAGAR, Jul 2: The 24 hrs bandh call by Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association (PAYWA) at Aalo and all Paktu area on July 1 passed off peacefully.
During the bandh call normal life was badly affected, shops, educational institutions, bank, post office and other establishments remain closed.
All types of vehicles were off the road except Magistrate and media person vehicles.
Though there was no any major incident during the 24 hrs bandh, minor incidents like stone pelting were reported and nine activists of PAYWA were arrested for pelting stone on magistrate and police vehicles in July 1 morning.
The Bandh was called by the association in protest against the district and concerned authority for their alleged failure to address the demands of the association like suspension of the civil works at Government Higher Secondary School, Aalo and Nehru Memorial Higher Secondary School, Puakgumin, Aalo due to non fulfillment of Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) guidelines by District RMSA authority and other issues.
The second phase 36 hrs bandh would be launched from July 8, if their demands are not fulfilled by the authority concerned.
Meanwhile, District Mission, RMSA West Siang District vehemently opposed the allegations leveled against them by the Paktu Area Peoples Forum.

NES concerned at Govt silence on ANSU movement
ITANAGAR, Jul 2: The Nyishi Elite Society (NES) expressed grave concern over the conspicuous silence maintained by the state Government over the ongoing ANSU movement on derogatory remarks against the Nyishi Community appeared in the Times of India news portal on May 4 last.
ANSU has so far observed 12 hours and 36 hours capital bandh on May 26 and from June 27 respectively in favour of demands for arrest of the reporter Pradeep Thakur.
NES said that it has already made its position clear that the Nyishis are patriotic and upholder of the democratic principles and extending cooperation to Government in all fronts.
If such is the response of the Government demeaning the sentiment of a good chunk
of population, the voice of smaller groups or organizations is destined to be neglected
and thus an anti people set-
Stating that the Government could have nipped the issue in the bud without resorting to unwarranted egoism in the past, the NES said the Government shall be squarely responsible for the future massive democratic movements on the issue.

According to the complaint lodged with the health minister, Nang Priya Mancheykhun, aged about 22 years and resident of Namsai, Milan Nagar, who met with an accident at Namsai yesterday while she was riding in a Scooty as a pillion rider, succumbed to her injuries at Namsai CHC for want of immediate necessary treatment. It said that the patient who suffered grievous injuries was immediately brought to the hospital along with other injured persons. But she could not received immediate treatment due to non availability of doctor at the CHC. They alleged that Dr.Gohain arrived at the hospital almost one and half hour late that too after several phone calls were made requesting him to attend the dying patients. By the time the doctor started treatment of the injured, the patient succumbed to her injuries, they said. “The injured girl could have been saved had there been doctor in the hospital at the time of her arrival.”
Holding the doctor responsible for the death due to his negligence in performing his duty, both the associations demanded stringent action against the erring medical officer beside his transfer before July five failing which they will launch indefinite bandh. They also alleged misuse of the hospital ambulance and fund meant for the hospital by the said doctor.
It also alleged dereliction of duty by the ambulance driver of the CHC Biswas and urged the authority to direct him to perform duty sincerely.

Training on rainwater harvesting ends

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. R. Bhagawati, Joint Director, ICAR highlighted the importance of this training programme and apprised the rural farmers how the rain water harvesting is important for sustainable livelihood and stressed that how soil and water conservation measures can improve not only to improve the soil fertility but also crop productivity. Further, he elaborated the importance of vegetable, mushroom, post harvest technology and livestock’s farming to increase the farm income, nutritional security and livelihood.
The course coordinator Dr. V.K. Choudhary, Scientist, Agronomy delivered introductory lectures on “rain water harvesting and its efficient use for agriculture”. He has also stressed the importance of various low cost water harvesting structures which are feasible at hilly terrains and the harvested water can be efficiently utilized for different farm, household etc. activity in the region for long term use and sustainable growth of the region. Hefurther addressed the issues of climate change in the region and its impact on our society and how best we can cope up with various mitigation techniques.
Resource person A. Kiran Kumar Singh, SMS, Agronomy gave brief description on the types of soil and water conservation measures (various measures) to increase the farm productivity while Dr. S.P. Singh, SMS, plant protection, spoke on the disease management measures for agricultural and horticultural crops.

Sikimoni, Farm Management, delivered presentation on “Nursery management and irrigation water management techniques for various horticultural crops and fruit trees”.

Dr. Doni Jini, Scientist, Veterinary Extension has briefed about better management of water and scheduling of water for pig during different season. Dr. M. S. Baruah, SMS, Animal Science delivered lecture on scientific poultry farming. Mr. Devendra Singh, Farm Manager and Bhoben Pait, Technical Staff explained about the various on going activities at research farm.
Exposure visits were also arranged to the research farm Gori and KVK instructional farm to witness the new technologies on their own. Hands on practical were also conducted to get expertise on the technologies taught.
